Therapeutic Services
Our students receive individualized support tailored to their specific needs as outlined in their IEPs, including speech, occupational, and physical therapy. We collaborate closely with service providers and integrate their strategies throughout the day to ensure skills are consistently practiced and effectively generalized.
These therapeutic services are thoughtfully designed to equip students with the tools they need to succeed in school, at home, and within their communities.

04
Collaborative
Our children’s therapy services involve teamwork. Therapists work with families, teachers, and staff to support progress in all areas of your child’s life.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is a specialized service that helps children improve their communication skills, making it easier for them to express themselves and connect with others. This service addresses challenges such as speaking clearly, understanding language, and engaging in conversation.
Our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) collaborate with instructors and clinical staff to enhance both verbal and non-verbal communication, improve speech clarity, and address oral motor skills like chewing, eating, and swallowing. These therapeutic services are tailored to each child’s needs and may be provided directly by Spiritos School or through the placement agency, as determined by the LEA.

Occupational Therapy
We are dedicated to helping students develop essential life skills through individualized occupational therapy (OT), delivered by trusted outside providers. These therapeutic services focus on improving key areas like handwriting, self-feeding, dressing, and tying shoes, which are vital for success at school, at home, and in the community.
Although we do not offer in-house occupational therapy, we collaborate closely with the placement agency to ensure every student’s IEP is tailored to their unique needs. This partnership ensures that each child receives the comprehensive support they need to grow, build confidence, and thrive in all aspects of their daily life.

Physical Therapy
Physical therapy helps children improve strength, coordination, balance, and mobility. This individualized therapy service supports physical development and fosters independence in school, at home, and in the community. By focusing on each child’s unique needs, physical therapy helps them build confidence and succeed in daily activities.
