Consistency– By providing a written program and continuous staff training, we're able to be consistent in working with the child so he or she learns what is and is not appropriate.
Meet the child where they are – Each child is a unique individual and is treated as such. What works for one child will not necessarily work for another.
Mix several therapies (ABA, Speech, OT, etc.) – By integrating various therapies, children respond more quickly.
Individualized programs – When you meet one neurodiverse child you meet one neurodiverse child. No two children are exactly alike and no program will work exactly the same with two different children.
Low Staff To Student Ratio– Each child has a team of 3 to 4 teachers/therapists who rotate. The child will work with one team member in the morning and a different one in the afternoon. By providing low ratio therapy, we're able to focus on that child’s specific needs. By rotating staff, we teach the child to generalize and not become attached to only one person.
Natural Environment Teaching – The main objective at Spiritos School is to prepare children to be successful in their homes and communities. By teaching them in and about their natural environment, they learn to be typical kids. They have fun learning and exploring and at the same time absorb lessons in science, math, and reading.
Community Outings – Our children are exposed to as many social situations as possible. Each outing is a lesson in proper behavior and conversation skills.
